If you sleep in a bedroom with central heating your skin will suffer and become dry due to lack of moisture in the room. The simple remedy is a bowl of water placed near your heat vent which will help to increase the humidity in the room. This is a magic little beauty tip that costs almost nothing and achieves remarkable results.

After thoroughly cleansing, use a peeled grape and gently rub it all over your face. Leave it to dry before washing off with tepid water. The result is tightened, silky smooth skin that feels as though you have just had a really expensive facial. Just one word of warning, try this on your wrist first just to make sure you are not allergic to grape juice!

If you want to ensure that your newly-done hairstyle is still shiny and smooth when you get up in a morning, do as the ancient Egyptians did and sleep on a silk pillowcase. This way your hair won’t stick to the pillow as much as it would if you were using cotton bedding.

Always use a powerful hairdryer – you can create your style quickly in far less time. Aim for a hairdryer with 2,000 watts or over – most salons use over 3000 watts.

When using essential oils in the bath, never add them in an undiluted form. Buy a cheap carrier oil and add the recommended number of drops to that. Remember to use an essential oil that has relaxing properties if you are bathing before going to bed and an invigorating one if you want to start the day in top form. The ideal time to apply body lotion is after a bath. It will lock in moisture, and by massaging in the direction of your heart, you will boost your circulation and lymphatic drainage.

Always, always, use a heat protection spray every time you dry your hair. It will help to prevent split ends and keep your hair healthy. If blow drying creates static in your hair, use a small amount of serum once your hair is dry. Sometimes, let your hair dry naturally. A break from the hairdryer does your hair a favor.

We all know we should drink at least six glasses of water daily to benefit our health and skin, but it also helps to fade dark circles under the eyes. Water is also free and useful for giving your pores a steam clean. Fill a bowl with hot water, cover your face with a soaked face cloth, and stand over the bowl for one minute to let the steam do its work.

As you get older you need to use less make-up, not more! It can actually be extremely aging, and too much powder is the biggest culprit. Pat powder on areas of your face that are likely to get oily, such as your nose, chin, and forehead, but  leave it off your cheeks – it will result in a far more natural look.

Don’t forget the skin on your feet if you are going to expose them in summer. The cheap tip here is to rub a lemon over thickened areas of the feet to exfoliate them. Finish off with a rich moisturizing cream or a foot soak in warm water with essential oils.

Finally, never underestimate the beneficial beauty gains that can come from learning a few facial, self-massage tricks. Any massage is beneficial but by buying yourself a basic massage book you can soon learn tips about how to relax the neck, eye, and general facial areas. This will provide both physical and mental benefits, as well producing results which will most likely enhance your complexion more than any expensive cosmetic product ever will.

All the tips outlined here will bring some measure of benefit and won’t cost a fortune, but the biggest beauty tip of all is to be happy. Stress and unhappiness can and do age you far more than any other factor, and it is most noticeable on the face. So pamper yourself, try these tips but most of all smile.

womens health54 Calcium: an Excellent Women’s Health Supplement
In an ideal world, women would be able to have healthy lives by just eating whatever they wanted. Unfortunately, in a society dominated by fast food for those always on the go, a diet needs to have certain health supplements in order to promote good health. One of the most important women’s health supplements is calcium. Calcium is essential for things like healthy teeth, nails, and of course strong bones. Calcium is available as a women’s health supplement in a variety of different ways.

Calcium as a Vitamin

Perhaps the most popular way for women on the go to get the added calcium they need is to take a women’s health supplement in the form of a vitamin. These vitamins can be found at any local convenience store or supermarket, and are relatively inexpensive. However, it is important for a woman to consult her doctor before taking any vitamins with extra calcium just to be on the safe side.

Calcium as a Woman’s Health Supplement in Food

The great thing about calcium is that it can be found in many different types of food. Of course, milk and other dairy products such as cheese and ice cream are known for having lots of calcium, but what happens to women who are lactose intolerant? No need to worry, simply look towards vegetables such as broccoli for that much-needed calcium.

A good indicator as to whether or not a woman is getting enough calcium is to look at her nails. If they break easily, chances are a little bit more calcium needs to be added to her diet. Likewise, for women with strong nails that need to be filed regularly, most likely they have at least an acceptable amount of calcium in their diets.

The Versatility of Calcium

Calcium is a health supplement that stands out from the rest because it is such a necessary part of women’s health at any age, and it can be found in both fun (ice cream) and not as fun (vegetable) food forms. Calcium is especially important for women as they approach menopause because, with the possibility of osteoporosis at some point, broken bones may be the result.

After the age of 50, it is important for women to schedule a bone density scan, which is a good way to see how much calcium might need be needed. Remember, adding some cream to a daily cup of coffee simply is not an adequate amount of calcium! Indeed, with a proper nutritious diet, a woman can ensure healthy bones, teeth, and nails thanks to the benefits of calcium.

The Scent of a Woman

makeup tips2 The Scent of a Woman

Scents and smells play an important role in our lives. Studies conducted recently have shown that men and women are attracted to each other depending on their body scent. Now we can’t really smell each other at a distance, but our brains can pickup certain smells that we don’t really notice and process it into different signals. This is a basic animal instinct that has stuck on to us since the beginning of mankind. Smelling good is as important as looking good. So selecting the right scent is imperative.

It’s a well known fact that certain aromas alter the moods of men and women, and full studies have been conducted on various types of aromatherapy and how specific smells make people react or how it makes them feel.

Some women love to wear a fragrance, but find that perfume or cologne is too heavy of an aroma. So, let’s discuss the alternatives to perfume, including body splash, body mists and deodorant sprays- all of which have a lighter scent that is easier on the nose!

Using Body Mists or Body Splashes

There are two main ways you can use body mist or body splash products to give yourself the pleasure of a light and refreshing scent of your choice. The most common way to use these aroma products is to spray lightly on your skin after taking a shower or bath. The scent will be present, but not overpowering and will last throughout the day. You can also spray the outside of your clothing with a light layer of scent to help the aroma last longer.

The less common way to use a body mist or body splash is to select a scent that you would enjoy smelling all over the house – such as flowers or the aroma of freshly cleaned linens! Using these scents, you can lightly spray the fabrics around your house – including the furniture and curtains, to help freshen up and give the house a pleasant smell that isn’t overly strong.

The Body Mist Difference

Perfumes and colognes are generally created with a fairly heavy scent. While you may really like the aroma, it might be unpleasant simply because it is so strong. For this reason, body mists and splashes were created to give people with more sensitive noses a way to enjoy a light fragrance without being overwhelming. The lighter scents also allow the products to be sprayed around the house as an air freshener.

Deodorant Sprays

A very similar product to body mists and splashes is the deodorant spray. Deodorant sprays contain light fragrances in a variety of different scents, and are also lightly sprayed on the body. It’s best when used with a roll on or gel deodorant, and can be sprayed in other areas of your body other than your underarm area to help maximize the deodorant’s power.

Some skins can be sensitive to certain types of body sprays, so before you use a spray the first time, try it out on a small portion of your body. If you feel a burning sensation, it means that your skin is reacting to it, and you should discontinue its use.
